About PegCity Grub
Here’s the thing about eating: It’s a lot of fun. We’ve been told food should be local, organic and good for you. Fair enough, but above all we want my food to taste great. Our quest? To help visitors and locals find the best food in Winnipeg. Peg City Grub is a Tourism Winnipeg initiative, providing culinary tourists a guide showcasing where to eat in Winnipeg.
From March 2015 onward Mike Green has been both the writer and photographer of PCG. Mike is the Social Media and Creative Communications Manager for Tourism Winnipeg, as well as a writer, broadcaster and journalist whose food and arts work has been featured in publications including Vancouver Magazine, Eat North and multiple CBC platforms (the most recent being CBC Radio’s syndicated, coast-to-coast summer food columnist). He holds a Masters of Journalism from the University of British Columbia and he finished fifth on the inaugural season of CTV’s MasterChef Canada.
From its inception until March 2015, Peg City Grub was written and photographed by born-and-raised Winnipegger Robin Summerfield, the author of Winnipeg Cooks. Robin is an award-winning travel writer, former trends and lifestyle columnist at the Calgary Herald and most recently editor of Ciao!
